INSPIRATION TO EXECUTION: Garden Wedding in Charlotte, NC

Charlotte’s such a sweet city with so many gorgeous venues (one of our faves, really). But it’s pretty hard to compete with a Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden wedding, especially if you’re looking for those modern fairytale vibes.

Amy and her team at DSBG were so gracious in allowing us to work our magic at DSBG all day. The first step in our experience design process is always gathering up inspiration images unrelated to weddings. Our creative partners and vendors feel so much more freedom to create when we aren’t telling them exactly what we want to see. Once we’ve got a Pinterest board full of art, interiors, nature, and clothing, we curate something cohesive with a few more hints to the project. Our initial inspiration board looked like this:

This inspiration board evolved into a six-page document, with photos of every element that contributed to the design and aesthetic. When you work with vendors that you trust, this is major. Show them what you’re hoping for, and chances are they’ll nail it without much more direction. Our team for this project was absolutely amazing, and I think we all exceeded our own expectations!

As a huge bonus, our lovely couple shared that they’d had a much smaller wedding than they’d original hoped for. (Our bridal model had never even worn a wedding gown!) These are the photos that they’ll look back on for generations, and being part of that legacy is exactly why we do this work. You can feel the love in these images!
