We’re big fans of full-weekend wedding experiences. Our couples come to us having lived all over the country (and the world), and often have guest lists that reflect that experience. The friends from childhood, classmates from B-school, and next-door neighbors from their first apartment complex are traveling to celebrate, so why not treat them to extended festivities? For the clients who want a bit more freedom than what a traditional large resort allows, we keep a short list of locations that offer open spaces and versatility for destination wedding weekends. Graylyn is one of those gems.

Graylyn (also known as The Graylyn Estate) is a 55-acre fairytale in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Yes, there are sprawling lawns, beautiful interiors and exteriors, and a pool. But maybe the most appealing aspect is the accommodation options: there are 85 guest rooms across multiple gorgeous buildings. There are few experiences more luxurious than taking over a property for a weekend of celebration.

Walking the grounds of Graylyn sends our designer brains into overdrive. We can picture welcome drinks around the fountain, dancing under a sailcloth tent, brunch in the shade…the possibilities feel endless. We’ve got our eyes on Graylyn.
